Whether you swim like a fish or like a fish out of water, swimming stimulates the touch and visual senses in ways that are not always obvious. Since you only need protective gear for the eyes and wear very little else, there is no comparative activity in which you can totally immerse yourself.
 
This website provides the lighter side to fitness, friendship, participation and competition into a water contact sport called Masters Swimming.

out to pasture		 We all know that time waits for no-one and you know you are getting older when you begin to believe there are three kinds of people; those who can count, and those who can't.

over the hill		 You can take heart however because Masters Swimmers know that it is only when you are over the hill that you can pick up speed.

on cloud nine		 A Masters Swimmer may not be an expert (x: unknown quantity; spurt: drip under pressure) but he does have exceptional skills and is an original from which copies are made.
