The Chinese Astrological system has 12 animals - each representing one year over a 12 year cycle. The cycle follows the lunar calendar with the first day of the new year (ie Chinese New Year) which usually starts between late January and mid February each year. The Chinese believe that everyone is guided by the traits of the animal under which they were born.

To find your Chinese astrological sign, you must first select the decade in which you were born from the Article Index on the RIGHT (2010's was added only to show the future date of Chinese New Year's day). A range of dates for the selected decade will then be displayed. Note the animal corresponding to the date of birth you are checking and then select that animal from the menu on the LEFT to display the traits.
